  1. Oxygen is a form of GAS. It is one of the 
  2. most abundant elements on Earth. It makes
  3. up a fifth of our air. 
  4. Oxygen is found in water and many different
  5. rocks. Most of the weight of water, and half
  6. that of rocks, comes from the oxygen in them.
  7. Fire needs oxygen to burn, and almost all
  8. living things need oxygen for breathing and
  9. to give them the energy to stay alive.
  10. Animals need extra oxygen to move about,
  11. whilst plant life gives out extra oxygen to
  12. the air during the process of photosynthesis.
